Born in 1957, Eleanor Livingstone lives on the Fife coast with her husband. They have one daughter. She is a Scottish poet, reviewer and editor whose work has been published in Ireland, Lithuania and the USA, and widely in the UK. A graduate of the University of St Andrews, she has worked both as a para-legal and creative writing tutor. Since 2005, she has been Artistic Director of StAnza: Scotland’s International Poetry Festival http://www.stanzapoetry.org/index.php which takes place annually in St Andrews.
She regularly travels to give readings across the UK. A full collection of her work is due from Red Squirrel Press in 2010 (http://www.redsquirrelpress.com/).
She is widely published in magazines and journals, including recently Magma, Smiths Knoll, The SHOp, Orbis, The Interpreter’s House and New Writing Scotland 2009: In the Event of Fire. ‘Snow Hare’ won first prize in the 2008 Second Light Poetry Competition.
